Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility

Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility

International Credit Mobility (ICM) -international credit mobility-is a measure under Key Action 1 of the Erasmus+ Program, KA171, aimed at promoting the mobility of students, faculty, and staff to and from universities located in eligible European and non-European countries. The goal of this action is to attract students and faculty to European universities, supporting them in competing with the global higher education market, while at the same time expanding the range of possible destinations for students and faculty from Europe with an opening to countries in the rest of the world. Specifically, KA171 aims to foster exchanges with universities located in one of the Program Partner countries that are not associated and, therefore, do not hold ECHE, but meet the principles contained therein, in order to:

  • Improve the internationalization process and attractiveness of the institutions involved;
  • Promote the acquisition of soft skills (language, digital), which are strategic for entering the world of work;
  • Fostering the professional development of participants;
  • Contribute to the modernization of teaching and the renewal of the educational offerings of participating universities;
  • Improve the quality of higher education systems.

The following activities are eligible under IMC – KA171:

  • Mobility for study purposes: aimed at carrying out full-time study activities (including thesis research) that allow the acquisition of credits at the partner university. Duration: 3 to 12 months.
  • Mobility for internship purposes: aimed at carrying out practical activities at institutions/entities located in the partner country. Duration: 2 to 12 months.
  • Mobility for teaching purposes: aimed at carrying out teaching activities at the partner university. Duration: from 5 days to 2 months (minimum 8 teaching hours per week).
  • Mobility for training purposes: aimed at conducting training activities at the partner university. Duration: from 5 days to 2 months.

For each project, only some of the activities mentioned as stated in the selection notice may be provided.
