The Board of Discipline carries out the investigation phase of disciplinary proceedings, initiated at the initiative of the Dean, against the faculty, and expresses its opinion to the Board of Directors in relation to the relevance of the facts on the disciplinary level and the type of sanction to be imposed.
2. The proceedings shall be conducted in accordance with the principle of peer review, with due regard to adversarial process, and with strict time limits for both its initiation and conclusion. In the absence of a decision within 180 days from the date of transmission of the documents to the Board of Directors, the proceedings shall be terminated.
3. In order to ensure compliance with the principle of peer review, the College consists of three full professors, one of them as chair, one associate professor and one researcher, mostly external, where possible, appointed by the Rector, after consultation with the Senate. The external members are chosen from full professors, associate professors and researchers from other universities. The two internal components, full professors, are elected by the entire academic body. Where the appointment of one or more external components is not possible, the Rector after consultation with the Senate shall make the appointment. The regime of incompatibilities provided for by current legal regulations shall apply. The associate professor and researcher do not participate in the judgment against a senior faculty member, in the event of disciplinary proceedings by the Rector, the disciplinary power is in the ownership of the Dean of the University.
4. The College holds office for three years. Its methods of establishment and operation are specified in the General Regulations of the University. Participation in the College does not give rise to the payment of compensation, emoluments, allowances or reimbursement of expenses.
