Optional Educational Activities (AFS) are supplementary educational activities freely chosen by students and required to earn the degree.
There are three types of Educational Choice Activities (AFS):
- Teaching – theoretical and/or practical courses conducted in the classroom and in the field
- Elective interns – activities that take place at research laboratories or other University facilities
- Sports groups – Sports activities organized by the Athenaeum Polysport
Teaching and elective internships are updated at the beginning of each academic year and are listed in the curricula of each individual bachelor’s and master’s degree program.
A total of 12 CFUs in the bachelor’s degree and 8 CFUs in the master’s degrees are allocated for these activities, according to the teaching regulations of the different courses of study.
Since these are mostly closed-numbered activities, in order for all students to acquire the relevant CFUs, they are required to enroll in only one Choice Learning Activity per type in each academic year.
Once registrations are completed, if there is still availability of places, and at the discretion of the teachers in charge, it will be possible to register for additional activities.
Registrations for Elective Internships must be made by contacting faculty directly as indicated in thespecific list.
The enrollment in SFA teachings specific to their course of study must be made online on the ESSE3 system, by accessing the restricted area, except in the following cases:
- For enrollment in the courses of:
- Neuromechanical adaptations to rhythmic activity
- Digital transformation and sports organizations
- AI in the management of sports organizations
- The management of sports bodies
- New teaching approaches for new challenges in physical education in Europe:learning to apply pedagogical models
- Swimming: race official
- Postural programming through gyrotonic and gyrokinesis methodologies
- For master’s degree students who also want to enroll in SFAs that are not in their major
- For students in the 1st year of master’s degrees who want to take SFAs in the 1st semester.
In these three special cases, students must make reservations by filling out the specific online form.
For the Degree Course (L22) it is specified that:
- students may only attend SFA teaching and elective internships specific to their course of study
- 1st year students cannot participate in AFS teachings in the 1st semester, while they can enroll in Sports Group activities and elective internships right away
The enrollment list, subject to availability, is drawn up according to the day and time of submission of applications.
Students who are unable to register should contact only theOffice of Educational Programming to request to be placed in the SFAs still available by emailing: programmazione.didattica@uniroma4.it
