Academic Senate

The Academic Senate, of which there are 3 ex officio members, 6 elective members and 2 student representatives, according to the University Statute (Title II, Chapter I, Section III, Article 9), performs functions of planning, direction, coordination and of teaching and research activities, and propositional functions with regard to the organization and planning of the various activities of the university.

The term of office is three years, renewable once. There is no allowance for members of the Academic Senate.

The Senate is convened by the Chancellor at least every three months and in any case whenever the Chancellor deems it appropriate or at least half of its members make a justified request.
