The Center forSports and Exercise Medicine operates within the Outpatient Clinic, which is responsible for the clinical evaluation of the athlete for the granting of competitive, noncompetitive and recreational sports fitness.
In particular, first-level evalu ations (competitive fitness examinations) for all sports disciplines and second-level cardiological evaluations (M-B mode and color Doppler echocardiogram, cycle ergometer maximal exercise electrocardiogram, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, 24-hour ECG according to Holter) are performed.
It is, in addition, possible to evaluate the athlete with disabilities for the purpose of granting competitive and noncompetitive sports eligibility by performing maximal exercise testing using the crank ergometer.
The Outpatient Clinic is a Sports Medicine Facility affiliated with the Italian Sports Medicine Federation for the Olympic Quadrennium 2021/2024 and is accredited as a Collaborating Centre of Sports Medicine by the International Federation of Sports Medicine.
