Transfers

Transfer from another university

Students coming from degree programmes at other universities may apply for enrolment in the programmes offered by the Università di Roma “Foro Italico” according to two types of transfer: from a degree programme in the same class or from a degree programme in a different degree class.

  • Transfer from a degree programme in the same degree class
For each academic year, the Academic Senate, on the proposal of the Degree Programme Councils, determines the number of places made available for transfers of students enrolled in degree programmes in the same class coming from other universities. To be admitted, it is necessary to submit an application in accordance with the attached call for applications:
    1. Bando trasferimenti da altro ateneo a.a. 2026-2027
    2. Bando trasferimenti da altro ateneo LM67I-R a.a. 2026-2027
    3. Transfer Procedure LM67I-R A.Y. 2026-2027

The online application via the Esse3 platform for the 2026-2027 academic year must be submitted from 10 June 2026, 12:00 noon, to 31 July 2026, 12:00 noon.

Subsequently, the Degree Programme Council, having assessed each candidate’s curriculum:

    • draws up the ranking list of candidates admitted to transfer
    • establishes the study plan, indicating the educational activities still to be completed in order to obtain the qualification and the year of the programme in which the candidate may enrol
    • sends the ranking list of candidates admitted to transfer, together with the assessment of their academic records, to the Teaching Planning Office, which informs the interested parties of the outcome of the assessments.

Candidates who have been found eligible following the medical examination and admitted to enrolment may proceed with completing the online enrolment application and paying the first instalment of university fees on the dates indicated for each group below.

The enrolment application must not be completed/submitted. The deadlines for ISEE-2026 for university right-to-study benefits, and for the second and third instalments, are indicated in the dedicated section on enrolment procedures.

  • Transfer from a degree programme in a different degree class
To obtain the transfer, the student must pass the selection test and, in the event of a positive outcome, must enrol according to the procedures and deadlines indicated in the notices published annually. If this does not take place, the transfer document will be returned ex officio to the university of origin. Following enrolment, for the purposes of any recognition of examinations already taken, the student may request an assessment of their previous academic record.

Transfer to another university

A duly enrolled student may transfer to another university by submitting an application to the Rector of their own university from 1 September to 31 December, using the specific transfer form, which must be completed in full and sent by e-mail to ufficio.protocollo@uniroma4.it. Remember to cancel the revenue stamp by marking it with initials or an X, and to attach the receipt for the €50 payment, a copy of the identity document in .pdf format, and the clearance certificate issued by the destination university, required only if the transfer is to the same degree programme.

After 31 December, the request may be submitted only by specifying the reason. The student is required to pay the prescribed transfer fee and to regularise any outstanding debts; they are not required to pay the first enrolment instalment for the academic year in which they intend to transfer.

The transfer document containing a copy of the academic record of the transferring student is sent to the destination university.

Students are advised to obtain information from the university of interest on the enrolment procedures for the chosen degree programme, and in particular on:

  • deadlines for submitting incoming transfer applications
  • entry requirements, any entrance test or other selection procedures.
