Transfer from another university

Students from courses of study at other universities may apply for enrollment in courses provided by the University of Rome “Foro Italico” according to two types of transfer: from a course of study of the same class or from a course of study of a different degree class.

  • Transfer from course of study in the same degree class

For each academic year , the Academic Senate, upon the proposal of the course councils , resolves the number of places made available for transfers of students enrolled in degree programs of the same class from other universities.

To be eligible, an application must be submitted according to the procedure outlined in the attached document.

Online application submission via the Esse3 platform for A.Y. 2024-2025 must be made from June 10 to August 2, 2024.

Subsequently, the Board of Studies, evaluated the curriculum of each candidate:

    • Processes the ranking of those eligible for transfer
    • establishes the study plan with the educational activities that still need to be completed for the degree and the year of the course in which it is possible to enroll
    • sends the rankings of transfer students and their processed careers to Educational Programming, which informs those concerned of the outcome of the evaluations.

 

Based on the outcomes of the evaluations candidates, who have applied for transfer, may decide to accept it. If they accept the transfer, they are required to:

    • accept the study plan established by the Board and the year of the course in which they will be placed;
    • Undergo a medical examination for fitness for competitive sports, if scheduled and as per the directions within the attached procedure;
    • Register by the deadline;
    • Conduct an orientation meeting before being placed on the list of attending students.

 

Applicants and candidates who have been found eligible for the medical examination and admitted to matriculation may proceed to complete the online matriculation application and pay the first installment of tuition fees on the dates indicated for each group below.

The matriculation application will not need to be filled out/submitted. The matriculation number will be available 3-4 days after the deadline of the specific matriculation procedure in one’s reserved area on Esse3.   • Transfer from course of study of different degree class

To obtain a transfer, the student must pass the competitive examination and, if successful, is required to matriculate in accordance with the procedures and deadlines specified in the notices published annually. If this is not done, the leave slip is automatically returned to the home university. Subsequent to matriculation, for the purpose of any recognition of examinations already taken, the student may request an evaluation of his or her past career.

 

Transfer to another university

A regularly enrolled student may transfer to another university by applying to the Rector of his/her university from September 01 to December 31, using the specific leave of absence form, which must be filled out in its entirety and forwarded by e-mail to ufficio.protocollo@uniroma4.it. Remember to cancel the revenue stamp (with an initials or an X) and attach the receipt for the payment of 50 €, a copy of the ID (in .pdf format) and the clearance issued by the destination university, which is necessary only if the transfer is to the same course of study.

Beyond December 31, the request can be made only by specifying the reason. The student is required to pay thestipulated leave allowance and regularize any debt positions; he/she is not required to pay the first tuition installment of the academic year for which he/she intends to transfer.

The leave slip containing a copy of the transfer student’s educational record is forwarded to the destination university.

It is advisable to inquire at the university of interest about how to enroll in the course of study you have chosen, and in particular:

  • deadlines for submission of incoming transfer application
  • entry requirements, possible entrance test or other selection methods.
