Inclusion policies

The University of Rome “Foro Italico’s” commitment to inclusion policies is referred to inArticle 2 of the University’s Statute.

The dean’s delegate to disability, specific learning disorders (SLD), inclusion support (established in compliance with Art. 1 of Law 17/1999), through joint actions with theSpecialized Tutoring Office, makes available information and disseminates useful knowledge to help the University, teaching and technical and administrative staff become more competent in inclusion processes, with particular attention to the area of motor and sports activities, which characterize the University’s courses of study.

The rector’s delegate carries out the functions of coordination, monitoring and support for all the initiatives necessary for the integration and inclusion of students with disabilities within the University aimed at giving concrete implementation to the interventions necessary for the full realization of the right to study, the implementation of the provisions of specific regulations (in particular Law 17/1999 and Law 170/2010) and the realization of a welcoming and accessible higher education environment at all levels.

The delegate promotes awareness among the student population and teaching and technical-administrative staff on the issues of inclusion processes, disabilities, and specific learning disorders.

Periodically, the delegate, with the cooperation of the Specialized Tutoring Office, prepares a report on the activity carried out in the previous year, which is submitted for the opinion of the University Evaluation Board to receive its comments and suggestions.

The opinion of the Core is, therefore, made available to the MUR at the time of the annual survey of interventions for students with disabilities and DSA.

Through its rector’s delegate, the University participates in the CNUDD since 2001, the year of its establishment within CRUI.
