To obtain the PhD degree, candidates must pass a final examination, which can be accessed by following the procedure outlined below:
Access to the platform
- Connect to the ESSE3 platform.
- Select “Login” (menu on the right-hand side) and log in using your institutional credentials (username and password of your University email account).
Submission of the application
- On the main screen, locate the row “PhD in Human Movement and Sport Sciences”.
- Select, in the following order:
– “Select”
– “Degree”
– “Award of Degree”
– “Proceed with the degree award process”
– “Award of Degree” - Tick the item “Exam sessions”.
- Select “I have already passed all examinations” and click “Next”.
Entry of the thesis details
- In “Thesis title submission”, from the drop-down menu “Thesis type”, select one of the following options:
– Compilation thesis
– Experimental/research thesis - Enter:
– Thesis title
– Language (from the drop-down menu) - Under “Teaching activities”, select from the drop-down menu:
– “[DOT9-06] Laboratory, Study, Individual Training Activities in Italy and Abroad and Thesis” - Select one of the available alternatives under “AlmaLaurea options”.
- Click :
– “Next”
– “Complete degree award application”
– “Return to the notice board”
Uploading of mandatory documentation
Access the “Thesis attachments” section and upload the documentation, one file at a time, in the following order:
- Final PhD thesis in PDF format (The file will be sent to the National Libraries of Rome and Florence and published on IRIS).
- Abstract in Italian and English in a single PDF file, containing:
– PhD Programme
– Cycle
– Academic year of enrolment (Enter only first name and surname, without any additional personal data or signature). - Declaratoria di pubblica accessibilità della tesi / Declaration of public accessibility of the thesis (Document downloadable here)
- AlmaLaurea questionnaire receipt (Instructions downloadable here)
- Any report on the revisions made (Only if the thesis has been assessed by external reviewers as: “The thesis is acceptable for public defence with minor revisions”.)
- Report on the activities carried out during the doctoral programme, including:
– Participation in conferences, congresses and seminars
– List of publications (specifying accepted and submitted works)
After uploading the documents, click “Return to the notice board”.
Entry of supervisor and co-supervisor
- Click on “Edit Thesis”.
- Search for the supervisor by surname and select them.
- Enter the co-supervisor, if applicable.
Once the procedure has been completed, the following will appear on the “Degree award notice board”:
- the submitted application
- the name of the supervisor and any co-supervisor
Payment of the virtual stamp duty of 16,00 €
- From the main menu, select “Student Records” > “Payments”
- Access the invoice identified by the description: “…virtual stamp duty for degree award A.Y. 202…/202…”
- Make the payment within the deadlines established for the submission of the application.
Payment methods other than the one indicated are not permitted. The payment outcome will be automatically recorded and can be consulted (within approximately five days) in the reserved area under “Student Records > Payments”.
