Foro Italico University Foundation

Since its establishment, Foro Italico University has intended to offer its knowledge to the territory where it is located by opening the doors of the university to citizens and involving them in activities of education for psychophysical well-being. In 2014, the “Foro Italico” University Foundation was established with the aim of supporting the University in its Third Mission activities and thus in the development of culture, research, education in the field of motor activities, sports and psychophysical well-being in its broadest sense through the collaboration between the University and the territorial communities, with the provision of services and activities aimed at promoting projects of excellence both within the national and international territory.

What we do

The University Center for Sports and Exercise Medicine, which operates within the University Outpatient Clinic and Sports Medicine., deals with the evaluation of the athlete for the granting of competitive, noncompetitive and recreational sports fitness. In particular, in the Center, specialists perform first-level evaluations (competitive fitness examinations) and second-level cardiological evaluations (M-B mode and color Doppler echocardiogram, Maximum Exercise Electrocardiogram on cycle ergometer, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, 24-hour ECG according to Holter) and the evaluation of the disabled athlete for the purpose of granting competitive and non-competitive sports eligibility, with the performance of maximal exercise testing using the crank ergometer.

The University Center for Sports and Exercise Medicine also performs cardiological and sports medicine examinations for health assessment in sedentary individuals and amateur athletes. It is recognized as a Collaborating Center of Sports Medicine by the International Federation of Sports Medicine.
