The University Center for Sports and Exercise Medicine, which operates within the University Outpatient Clinic and Sports Medicine., deals with the evaluation of the athlete for the granting of competitive, noncompetitive and recreational sports fitness. In particular, in the Center, specialists perform first-level evaluations (competitive fitness examinations) and second-level cardiological evaluations (M-B mode and color Doppler echocardiogram, Maximum Exercise Electrocardiogram on cycle ergometer, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, 24-hour ECG according to Holter) and the evaluation of the disabled athlete for the purpose of granting competitive and non-competitive sports eligibility, with the performance of maximal exercise testing using the crank ergometer.
The University Center for Sports and Exercise Medicine also performs cardiological and sports medicine examinations for health assessment in sedentary individuals and amateur athletes. It is recognized as a Collaborating Center of Sports Medicine by the International Federation of Sports Medicine.
