Key Action 1 KA131 of the Erasmus+ program provides mobility opportunities for teaching and administrative technical staff of participating higher education institutions holding ECHEs with the aim of fostering:
- The transfer of knowledge and skills;
- The enrichment of study paths;
- The comparison of different teaching methods;
- Cooperation among faculty and between faculty and students internationally
And to incentivize:
- The development of professionalism;
- The discussion among colleagues on best practices;
- The acquisition of new skills and competencies.
This type of mobility can include both teaching and training activities.
Who Can Participate
All employees of higher education institutions in a program country and ECHE holders and staff of companies invited for a teaching assignment at one of the above higher education institutions can participate.
For teaching activities, professors and professors of first and second rank, tenured and fixed-term researchers and researchers, contract professors and professors (provided we have an active contract, not for free, at the time of the planned departure), and research fellows and fellows may participate.
Technical administrative and library staff may participate in training activities.
Where you can go
You can go to any higher education institution and public or private organization based in a program country or in a partner country with which a bilateral agreement (Mobility Agreement) has been signed in advance.
How long
Staff mobility ranges from a minimum of 2 days to a maximum of 2 months, excluding travel. For mobility from program countries to partner countries, the duration of the activity ranges from 5 days to 2 months. In both cases, the minimum days of stay must be consecutive.
Characteristics of docenting
The planned docenting activity must beat least 8 hours per week, and if the mobility extends beyond one week, the number of docenting hours is counted proportionally. If the lecturing period also includes a period of training to update one’s skills, the number of lecturing hours required for one-week stays (or shorter stays), is 4 hours. There is no minimum number of lecturing hours required for staff from overseas companies.
Mobility Funding
The amount of the EU contribution is calculated on the basis of the costs actually incurred and documented in compliance with the ceilings defined by the Erasmus+ National Agency for travel (based on the distance between the two universities) and stay (based on the country of destination and the number of days of mobility).
