What is a listening desk?
The listening desk is a university space dedicated to wellness, welcoming and flexible, where the entire university community, can talk to a psychologist to express difficulties related to their life experience within the University.
Organization
The counseling cycle consists of 1-5 individual meetings lasting about 60 minutes each on a weekly basis and a possible follow-up interview 4/6 months later.
The interviews are completely free of charge and can be arranged in person or remotely on the Teams platform.
For male and female students (S.A.C.S.)
The Listening and Counseling Desk for Undergraduate Students (S.A.C.S.) was established in our University on October 1, 2018 as a result of Resolution No. 22 of the B.O. dated 15-05-2018.
Why a student listening desk?
In this space, students can express the hardships they are experiencing such as difficulties:
- Of inclusion in the university setting;
- related to the organization of one’s time and study method;
- Relationships with peers and/or teachers;
- of concentration, anxiety, sense of ineffectiveness, and motivational decline.

The S.A.C.S. is located inside the H Building at 15 Lauro de Bosis Square, 3rd floor – room D506

For all employees
This Listening Desk is open to all employees (faculty, researchers and PTA) of the University of Rome ‘Foro Italico’. The desk was established in March 2025 with the aim of promoting the well-being of individuals and the organization, to counter the risk of work-related stress, and finally to actively support individual employees and/or work groups in solving psychological problems and critical issues that arise in the work context.
Why a listening desk for employees?
In this space, staff can express the discomforts they are experiencing that typically compromise the mental and physical health of male and female workers, such as:
- burnout;
- work-related stress (Perception of Inadequacy and Performance Anxiety);
- Work addiction or workaholism syndrome;
- techno-invasion (ill-defined boundaries between private and work life);
- Relationship difficulties with co-workers;
- strained relations with top management (lack of fairness and autonomy over one’s own work, work overload);
- bullying.

The Desk is located inside the Athenaeum, on the 3rd floor of Building H (Rector’s Office), room D.507
