The Bachelor’s Degree in Physical and Sport Sciences (class 22 DM 270/04) is derived from the transformation of the previous course of study in Physical and Sport Sciences (class 33 ex DM 509/99), which in turn was born from the transformation of the pre-existing diploma of the State Higher Institute of Physical Education (ISEF).
The Bachelor’s Degree provides knowledge related to the main areas of motor and sports education and, to this end, includes:
In addition, there is a strong emphasis on practical training and the development of a wide range of theoretical and practical skills.
Thanks to consultation with bodies and organizations operating in the sports field, and in particular with the Italian National Olympic Committee, which require the development of training that is increasingly flexible and adapted to the realities of organizations and economic and legal sectors related to motor and sports activity more broadly understood, the degree course is designed to enable graduates to independently know and promote individual and group training and motor activity programs, in different social contexts and according to different objectives, appropriately grading programs and workloads according to gender, age, physical condition and other specific characteristics of the users.
Within this course of study, a second curriculum has been established that shares the theoretical and scientific basis of the teachings with the first, differentiating itself in some specific aspects and enabling those individuals who are already working in the world of high-skill sports, and in particular technical and sports directors and technical executives of National Sports Federations, to achieve a higher level of education by aligning their professional careers with university education.
At the end of the training, therefore, each student can either enter new work experience or continue within his or her career path with an adequate background of methodological-scientific and theoretical-practical knowledge, or he or she can continue his or her education with access to the second cycle provided with master’s degrees.
Ultimately, the entire educational offerings are complemented by optional activities that leave personal room for choice to privilege particular educational areas through elective educational activities, internship and final paper.
The course will have two separate educational tracks (curriculum):
1. Exercise and sports science
2. Management and Organization of High Level Sports
The final proof
The final examination is part of a broader process of verifying the learning outcomes expected of students at the end of the training program and consists of a report at the end of the internship and the writing of a final paper.
The latter allows for the testing of communication skills and learning abilities, as it provides a formative opportunity for the student to:
The content of the final paper may consist of:
Finally, with regard to the exit tests, one will test the student’s knowledge of a foreign language and will allow the assessment of the student’s attainment of level B2 in English or French, while the second test, on computer skills, will allow the verification of the student’s attainment of the skills necessary to obtain, at official testing centers, the European Computer Driving License (ECDL).
