This Notice is given, pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of the European Regulation on the Protection of Individuals and Personal Data No. 679/2016 (hereinafter also “GDPR”), in relation to the personal data of which the University of Rome “Foro Italico” (hereinafter also “University” and/or “Data Controller”), will come into possession as a result of the purposes listed below.
By processing of personal data we mean any operation or set of operations, performed by the University with or without the aid of automated processes and applied to personal data, collected, recorded, modified, processed, adapted, consulted, communicated, transmitted, disseminated, made available, compared, interconnected, deleted, destroyed.
Pursuant to Article 5(1)(a) of the GDPR, the processing of personal data will be based on the principles of fairness, lawfulness and transparency and protection of the confidentiality of data and the rights of the data subjects.
The validity of the information contained in this policy is limited to the University website only and does not extend to other external websites that may be accessed via hyperlink.
Definition of Cookies
Cookies are short snippets of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera etc) to be reused during the same visit to the site or later. Cookies are stored, based on user preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device being used (computer, tablet, smartphone).
Only technical, strictly necessary cookies are operational on the Athenaeum site. These are cookies that are indispensable for the proper functioning of the site and are used to manage various services related to the site (for example, a login or access to reserved functions in the sites), with the purpose of performing computer authentication.
“Google analytics” cookies (a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc.) are assimilated to technical cookies
where they are used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, about the number of users and how they visit the site. To disable Google Analytics cookies only, you can proceed as per the instructions provided by the Google support service: Browser add-on for disabling Google Analytics.
According to the E-Privacy Directive (2002/58/EC), users’ consent is not required for the installation of strictly necessary technical cookies, to which Google Analytics cookies are assimilated.
