The Director
The Director represents the Department and is responsible for carrying out all activities under it, in accordance with the principles of quality and transparency and overseeing compliance with relevant laws and standards, statutes and regulations.
The Director maintains relations with the governing bodies and performs all other duties assigned to him/her by current regulations within the limits of the provisions of the statute. In agreement with the competent organs and offices of the university, he/she stipulates and signs contracts and agreements aimed at ensuring the functioning of the Department and the performance of its various activities, in accordance with the strategic lines and administrative procedures of the university, and within the limits of the resources allocated for this purpose.
The Director is elected by the Department Council from among full-time tenured professors and is appointed by Decree of the Dean.

The Department Council
The Department Council directs and plans the activities of the Department and adopts its programmatic, scientific and financial acts and reports.
It includes all tenured faculty members incardinated in it, representatives of the technicians assigned to it, and a student representative appointed by the Student Council, which for the period 2023-2025 is Mr. Gianmarco Rotondi.
The Council shall be convened by the Director at least every three months in regular session and may also be convened at the request of the majority of the members. The agenda of the meetings of the Council must be brought to the attention of the members at least five days before the meeting; in case of urgent convocation, justified by the Director, the term may be reduced to up to three days. For meetings to be valid, the presence of half plus one of the members subtracting excused absentees is required. Resolutions are adopted by a majority vote of those present. In case of a tie, the Director’s vote prevails.
The Department Council
The Department Council operates, including by means of special proxies, through a Council, consisting of the Department Director, who chairs it, a full professor, an associate professor, a researcher and a representative of the administrative technical staff, elected by their respective components.
The Department Council for the three-year period 2021-2024 is composed of:
