This research explores how Open Innovation strategies impact the performance of start-ups within the sports sector. By investigating inbound, outbound, and coupled Open Innovation processes, the study aims to understand how start-ups can leverage innovation ecosystems to enhance their financial, non-financial, and innovative performance. The research highlights the role of collaboration among diverse actors—such as companies, universities, and investors—in driving innovation and fostering start-up success. Ultimately, it seeks to provide a framework for better defining Open Innovation Ecosystems and their influence on start-up strategies.
