Blended Intensive Programme A.Y. 2023–2024 English for Sport 2: Language and Communication Skills for Sport Management Professionals This Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), coordinated by the University of Rome “Foro Italico,” offers students from bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels in sport management and sport sciences the opportunity to develop advanced communication skills in English tailored to the sports industry. The programme is structured as a 7-week course (30 hours, 3 ECTS), combining a virtual component (18 March – 29 April 2024) with an in-person component in Rome (17–21 June 2024). The course focuses on enhancing both verbal and written communication skills for professional contexts in sport management. Topics include: Public speaking, presentations, negotiations, and interviews in sports contexts. Professional writing (emails, reports, and proposals). Branding, personal branding, and social media strategies for the sports industry. Ethics in sport and communication challenges in ethical dilemmas. The economic impact of major sporting events and strategies to engage diverse audiences. Learning is highly interactive, with workshops, role-playing, case studies, group discussions, and guest lectures from industry professionals. Students will also carry out a hands-on group project simulating a real professional challenge, culminating in a presentation assessed by academic staff and experts. The programme brings together 28 students from partner universities including: Catholic University of Murcia (Spain) European University of Madrid (Spain) Hungarian University of Sports Science (Hungary) ILEPS (France) Lithuanian Sports University (Lithuania) By the end of the programme, participants will have strengthened their ability to communicate effectively in English within international and professional sports management environments, preparing them for careers in an increasingly globalized field
