Education and research: strategic agreement signed between the university and the Polytechnic University of Turin

The University of Rome “Foro Italico” has signed a collaboration agreement with the Polytechnic University of Turin aimed at promoting the training and professional development of male and female researchers.

A collaboration, strongly desired by the two Director Generals, Dr. Lucia Colitti and Dr. Vincenzo Tedesco, which is based on a shared vision of growth and innovation, aiming to strengthen academic careers and create a bridge between the world of research and the business world for a positive spillover effect on the development of civil society.

It is an ambitious project that aims to create synergies between the two institutions, enhancing their respective skills and resources to meet the challenges of research and innovation at a time when making a system has become the watchword especially for academia.

There are several joint initiatives that the two institutions intend to carry out: from surveying the training needs of academic staff, to designing and implementing joint training paths for the development of soft skills that are increasingly necessary to be competitive, to monitoring and evaluating the activities carried out, to sharing best practices, to collaborating on activities and research projects to be carried out together.

Collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Turin will make it possible to pool specific knowledge and expertise, promoting the efficiency of joint actions for the benefit of the community. The two institutions will work together to develop research and innovation projects, share data and experiences, and promote scientific and technological culture in its various applications.

Polytechnic brings its many years of experience in designing training courses for researchers and supporting their careers, evidenced by the prestigious European “HR Excellence in Research” award.

The University of Rome “Foro Italico,” with its multidisciplinary vision, will enrich the pathways with an integrated approach and innovative tools to support doctoral and post-doctoral students, researchers. It will also share with the Polytechnic its nearly 100 years of study and research experience in the field of exercise science and sports, understood as a competitive and leisureactivity and increasingly considered an integral part of the culture, lifestyles of people.

The Rector of the University of Rome “Foro Italico,” Prof. Attilio Parisi, emphasized how this collaboration represents an important step forward in enhancing talent: “The agreement with the Polytechnic of Turin reinforces our commitment to support researchers in their growth, promoting an education that looks to the future and to the international context. This agreement is not just a project, but a shared vision for the future of our researchers. The synergy between our institutions will make a difference, generating opportunities that go beyond academic boundaries.”

The Politecnico also reiterated the strategic value of the synergy, highlighting how joining forces between the two institutions generates a positive impact not only on researchers, but on the entire Italian research system. “This agreement will make it possible to strengthen the skills of our researchers and improve their career opportunities, contributing to the development of scientific research and specialized training,” said Politecnico di Torino Rector Prof. Stefano Paolo Corgnati.

Both universities look to the future with confidence, believing thatcollaboration and resource sharing are the key to enhancing talent and successfully meeting global challenges.
