The prof. Vincenzo Romano Spica, full professor of General and Applied Hygiene, presents in this video the research activities that, together with his team of young researchers, he carries out within the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Biotechnology, one of 18 research laboratories at the University of Rome “Foro Italico.”
A specialist in sports facility hygiene and safety, Professor Spica strongly believes that research and prevention are the basis for the development of public health, which is closely related to the health of the environment and ecosystems in which people live.
Hygiene and preventive medicine applied to motor activities and sports, epidemiology and biotechnology are, in fact, the main lines of research of the professors and researchers working within the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Biotechnology, as well as their teaching subjects in the University’s various undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Thanks to a strong synergy between different scientific expertise, the Laboratory is able to offer services to the local area and tools for improving the quality of life and public health.
