Professore Associato di Biologia applicata presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Motorie, Umane e della Salute, Università degli Studi di Roma “Foro Italico”, con esperienza di ricerca ed insegnamento nel campo della biologia cellulare e molecolare, regolazione genica e splicing alternativo.
La ricerca della Prof. Paronetto è focalizzata sulla regolazione dell’espressione genica a livello co- e post-trascrizionale, e sulla regolazione dello splicing alternativo da parte di signaling pathways attivati in condizioni fisiologiche e patologiche.
La sua ricerca si propone di studiare la regolazione del processamento degli RNA da parte di RNA binding proteins (RBP), la cui attività è modulata da meccanismi di trasduzione del segnale e programmi di differenziamento cellulare, ed è spesso deregolata in patologie quali le malattie neurodegenerative ed il cancro.
Research Interests: RNA metabolism, alternative splicing, molecular oncology, Ewing sarcoma.

Associate Professor of Applied Biology at the Department of Movement, Human and Health Sciences, University of Rome “Foro Italico”, with teaching and research background in the fields of cellular and molecular biology, gene regulation and alternative splicing.
The aim of Prof Paronetto’s research is focused on co- and post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, with a specific interest in the regulation of alternative splicing and its modulation by signal transduction pathways.
Her research aims at unraveling the regulation of mRNA processing and gene expression by RNA-binding proteins (RBP) whose activity is modulated by signal transduction pathways and differentiation programs, and is dysregulated in human disease, such as neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.
