MICHELA MENGHINI è Ricercatrice Universitaria in Lingua e Traduzione, lingua inglese (L/LIN 12) presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Motorie, Umane e della Salute dell’Università degli Studi di Roma “Foro Italico”. Laureata in Lingue Straniere e con formazione professionale in programmazione informatica, ha svolto attività di ricerca sul discorso giuridico sportivo utilizzando metodi di corpus linguistics e applicando strumenti informatici all’analisi linguistica, ad esempio per il progetto nazionale di ricerca PRIN/COFIN “Tension and Change in Domain-specific Genres”. Dal 2011 si interessa anche all’identificazione di fenomeni di multilinguismo e multietnicità e agli effetti sul tessuto sociale ed economico nella città di Roma nell’ambito del progetto di ricerca internazionale LUCIDE (Languages in Urban Communities – Integration and Diversity for Europe), finanziato dalla Comunità Europea, che vede coinvolte 15 altre città europee. È inoltre impegnata in attività di ricerca applicata alla didattica ai fini della creazione e implementazione di materiali didattici per corsi di lingua inglese in e-learning, presso il Centro Linguistico di Ateneo. Si dedica attivamente all’attività didattica dall’anno accademico 2010/11 e tiene, in affidamento, i corsi semestrali per l’insegnamento di “Lingua Inglese: Ulteriori Conoscenze Linguistiche” nell’ambito del Corso di Laurea in Scienze Motorie L22.

MICHELA MENGHINI is Researcher in English Language and Translation at the University of Rome “Foro Italico”. She has a university degree in foreign languages and professional training in computer science. Her main research interests have been corpus linguistics and the application and development of computer tools for language analysis in general, including as part of the PRIN 2007 national research project “Tension and Change in English domain-specific Genres”. Since 2011 her research interest has also been the phenomenon of multilingualism and multi-ethnicity and their effects on the education, social and economic spheres of the city of Rome as part of the international research project LUCIDE (Languages in Urban Communities – Integration and Diversity for Europe), funded by the European Commission and including other 15 European city partners. She is also working on applied research activities, with the aim of creation and implementation of didactic materials for e-learning courses of English as a Foreign Language at the University Language Centre. She has also been teaching English as a Foreign Language for University undergraduate students since 2010/11 and is in charge of the courses of “Lingua Inglese: Ulteriori Conoscenze Linguistiche”.
